The LMB hosts events across the state to raise funds for the organization to work for safer cycling across the diverse Michigan cycling community.
SHORELINE 7 DAY AUGUST
A week long pavement based camping tour- The SHORELINE experience goes from Alpena to Traverse City along the shores of Lake Huron and Lake Michigan, with gorgeous lake and forest riding. This is a 7 day camping bike tour with pavement based routes. Minors get reduced pricing for 17 and under.
SUNRISE - 3 DAY JUNE
Hub-n-Spoke 3 Day Tour- Join us for SUNRISE as a alternate to our normal SHORELINE 3 day offering or as a pre ride to SHORELINE. This Hub n Spoke hotel based 3 day tour in and around Alpena during father’s day weekend in June will get your bike and legs ready for a great adventure in August.
Shoreline Information
On Michigan’s SHORELINE tour, you’ll be part of an unforgettable vacation as you pedal tree-lined roadways past breathtaking lake shore views. Enjoy local wineries, micro-breweries, farm stands, crystal-clear lakes, historic resort towns, and the interesting people on the tour! This fully-supported tour covers Michigan coasts with stops including Mackinaw City and Traverse City.
» Tourist-based route with stops in and along many of the great vacation spots in the lower peninsula of Michigan, traversing the shores of Lake Huron and Lake Michigan.
» Route travels from Alpena to Traverse City, showcasing some of the greatest traditions of SUNRISE as part of the route and stops for SHORELINE.
» Paved routes from 30 to 60 miles per day. We stick to the shoreline of the Great Lakes and inland lakes as much as we can.
What is included in my registration price?
Member Pricing
From noon on Jan. 2025, LMB members get a $75 discount on the registration fee.
Campsites provided
Each night you will have a place to set your tent or a pre-assigned spot from our tent service provider Padres Cycle Inn. (Extra fee for tent service)
Showers
Each campsite will have showers avaible. They range from school locker rooms , to hockey arenas, to shower trucks depending on the location. Rest assured you can get cleaned up from your big ride and head out to town for a enjoyable evening.
RWGPS App
All routes will be on the RWGPS app and participants will have the full suite active for the duration of the event.
On tour mechanic
Our event partner Broom Wagon Works will be on the road with us for the tour and can help with your mechanical issues as they arise. They post up their hours of operation in camp and are available in the mornings and evenings to serve your needs. Please note: they are there to take care of quick fixes at no cost but any subsequent mechanical work would be fee based. They also are very active international racers and would love your support so throw them a few shekels if they help you out.
Event Jersey
Jerseys are an add on item. We will close jersey sales on June 2 to place our order. Once the order is made the chance to have a 2025 SHORELINE jersey will expire so make sure to add one during your regsitration. PRIMAL 3 pocket Short sleeve full zip jerseys will be the final product.
SAG Support
Fully stocked AID stations along the route will be your oasis during the ride. SAG drivers will be on course should you need some help or run into a mechanical and need to get back to camp. You will have a mechanic on site at camp all riding days.
Great meals
Many of our riders say the meals on Shoreline are the best around. Every riding day, you can rely on breakfast and dinner provided to fuel your ride on Shoreline.
Amazing staff and volunteers!
Folks that work these events are often cyclists themselves and know what riders need. We cant put these events on without our awesome staff and volunteers. Expect to get to know the staff and voluenteers well. They are on tour to make sure you are having the best time and enjoying your excursion across the tip of the mitten.

This is the event for you if you like to be in and around more developed areas with options and amenities to dine, shop, and visit landmarks like lighthouses and other iconic Michigan treasures.
The fully paved and supported routes offer you a opportunity to just get on your bike and ride. No need to worry about your gear and where to get water or light snacks from. Ride in comfort as you follow the RWGPS route or use the sign marking along the way and enjoy the lakeside wonders of SHORELINE.
