PRE EVENT MILESTONES

Member Registration Opens - January 1

At 12:00 p.m. on Jan. 1, 2025, member registration and pricing opens to our LMB members only. Please check your membership staus and make sure you are a current member to gain access to this special pricing and early event registration. Members will have password and a discount code they will need to access the regsitration portal. If your a member check your email for the password. 

Pre-Order Jersey Deadline - June 2

Please be sure to take advantage of our pre order for SHORELINE jerseys. The 2025 jersey will only be available via pre order and once we make the order the opportunity to own a jersey will expire. Visit the homepage to view the design.    

 

Non-Member Registration Opens - Jan. 15

 Public registration opens to everyone on Jan. 15, 2025 at noon. There will be price increases every 60 days after public opening so make sure to register early to avoid the increases. 

Registration Closes - July 2

Registration closes at 11:59 p.m. on July 2. We shut registration down so we can place final orders and get final numbers to all of our vendors. To ensure fairness, we cannot grant exceptions.

DURING EVENT MILESTONES

Pre Tour Bus/Bike Loading - August 2, TIME TBD

For folks wishing to ride their bike back to their car, we will have bike loading and a pre tour bus in Traverse City. Riders using the pre tour bus will be loading their bikes in a seperate truck and then you and your luggage will be loaded onto the buses to ride over to Alpena for the start of the event. The loaded bikes will be deliverd to Pre Tour bus riders upon your arrival in Alpena. SEE RIDERS GUIDE FOR EXACT TIMES

The folks who have the pre tour bus will depart  Traverse City around 10 am to head to Alepna. Both bus riders and folks who got to Alpena by their own means can hang out in Alpena’s peaceful downtown, visit the Great Lakes Maritime Heritage Center, kayak the Thunder Bay River, or take your bike out on one of several unsupported routes based on our SUNRISE tour in the 20-60 mile range. OVERNIGHT LOCATION: 

Alpena to Rogers City - Aug. 3

Passing by the stately Presque Isle lighthouses and riding through Thompson Harbor State Park, you’ll end up in Rogers City with plenty of time to search the beach for Petoskey stones.

Rogers City to Cheboygan - Aug. 4

The route continues past Black Lake and Black Mountain before arriving in the historic town that straddles the Cheboygan River. Check out downtown Main Street and Water Street areas and visit a 100-foot mural in Washington Park.

Cheboygan to Mackinaw City - Aug. 5

The North Central State Trail takes you on a short, straight shot up the coast with views of Bois Blanc Island on the way to Mackinaw City, where you can catch a ferry to Mackinac Island or explore the area.

OVERNIGHT LOCATION:

Mackinaw City (Lay Over Day) - Aug. 6

For your mid-week rest day, take a ferry to Mackinac Island for a leisurely car-free ride around the island (note: e-bikes not allowed) or check out one of the optional routes to nearby destinations. Alternatively spend some time in Mackinaw City and take in the historic sites, shops, eatries and attractions.

 

Mackinaw City to Petoskey - Aug 7

Get back in the saddle for a long haul down the Lake Michigan coast, past Cross Village, through the Tunnel of Trees, and alongside the quaint downtown of Harbor Springs into Petoskey.

OVERNIGHT LOCATION:

 

Petoskey to Charlevoix - Aug 8

Roll out from Petoskey and ride into the Boyne area for some great views and inland lake shorelines along the way. This can also be unsupported short day if you just want to blaze across and get to Charlevoix early to enoy the county fair.

Charlevoix to Traverse City - Aug 9

Move up and out of Charlevoix to our final destination Traverse City where we will end our week long adventure with a ride through Howe Ice Arena to finish the glorious week. Traverse City is the largest town along our route and is a great place to get in a few days early and explore or stay for a few days and relax and enjoy.
