Please note: Planning is underway and final routes will be sent to riders 1 week prior to the event.

Alpena to Rogers City - Aug. 3

Passing by the stately Presque Isle lighthouses and riding through Thompson Harbor State Park, you’ll end up in Rogers City with plenty of time to search the beach for Petoskey stones.



Rogers City to Cheboygan - Aug 4

The route continues past Black Lake and Black Mountain before arriving in the historic town that straddles the Cheboygan River. Check out downtown Main Street and Water Street areas and visit a 100-foot mural in Washington Park.



Cheboygan to Mackinaw City - Aug 5

The North Central State Trail takes you on a short, straight shot up the coast with views of Bois Blanc Island on the way to Mackinaw City, where you can catch a ferry to Mackinac Island or explore the area.



OPTIONAL PRE OR POST SHORELINE ROUTE

Before you set off to take the bus to Alpena get into town a day or two early and ride one of the most quintessential road routes in Michigan. Old Mission Peninsula. This is a ride on your own route and can be done prior to the start of SHORELINE or after we return to Traverse City.



Mackinaw City (layover) - Aug 6

For your mid-week rest day, take a ferry to Mackinac Island for a leisurely car-free ride around the island (note: e-bikes not allowed) or check out the city and all it has to offer from historic forts to great shops and dining all a short walk from our camp.



Mackinaw City to Petoskey - Aug 7

Get back in the saddle for a long haul down the Lake Michigan coast, past Cross Village, through the Tunnel of Trees, and alongside the quaint downtowns of Harbor Springs before reaching the beaches of Petoskey.



Petoskey to Charlevoix - Aug 8

Take the long or short route on this day to choose the distance you feel up to. The toens of Petoskey and Charlevoix are some of the favorites of our SHORELINE riders and we wanted to make sure you had time to enjoy the day.

Charlevoix to Traverse City- Aug 9

Gorgeous farm country and Torch Lake await you on the way to northern Michigan’s largest community, Traverse City. Visit bookstores, delis, or wineries as you wind down from two intense days for riding.
